Yes, I answered your post, dont sound so surprised. I am not completely cut off from the family.

I've been here for about a week now and really like it. My room mates for the most part are all amazing. We all get along really well. Two of them, Adriana and Sandy knew each other already so they spend more time together, but its okay because theyre both nice. and I have Jenny who is the other room mate from New York who I have a lot in common with and is absolutely wonderful.

We have a huge dorm room because it is a converted lounge, so we have more space than we really know what to do with, but I'm not complaining.

I've made a few friends, not too many, but a couple. Whats nice is that I've been hanging out with three people from my high school, two I was friends with but now am much closer with, and one I had never met before but now am good friends with as well.

I've gotten used to campus now, so I pretty much know my way around, which is amazing. although I have a night class in a building that is clear across campus from my dorm, but thats okay there are plenty of people to walk back with.

Yes, I have a basket for the shower, and you're right, it is an amazing invention. But anyway, I better go, I'm going to breakfast, then the library, then class... I have a busy day ahead of me. So I will see you all later.

And Marcie Answered My Post

How's the dorm? How are your roommates? How was moving in? Did you buy that basket that hangs from the shower head? (one of the most important inventions for first year college students that for some reason I never actually owned).

When do classes start?

Hmm - Marcie is now in college.

I think to be responsible - she should be calling in home every night. And on weekends, stop by for dinner on Saturdays and watch movies with her parents on Saturday nights. Am I right? I mean Dan does that already. And I did that too. Its just logical.

It seems like yesterday when my little girl was, well, little. Now she is off to college. I'm glad she will be close by. Danny made it! Hopefully everything will go well.
I love everyone, enjoy these beautiful days of summer.

you are funny

Phil, you should work for the Onion!!

Danny left today, the house seems empty without my little boy. And next week Marcie will be leaving. I am happy though that Marcie decided to go to TCNJ, at least she will be close to home. I am proud of all of you!

Little AnnaMaria is not feeling well today, she got her three shots yesterday and has had a fever since, she still manages to smile though.

Love you all

Going to school

The Onion article about the young man going to school for his Master's to get a girlfriend was very funny, but also a little sad. It reminded me that my own son did the same thing. Of course replace "going to school for his Master's" with "going to Singapore."

Hi, does anybody get the Onion? It's so funny today.

There is an article about a guy who is going for his masters just to get a girlfriend since he can't find one just working. Then a lady who decides to get a gardener, it's really funny. I love american voices too.

Love you

Well, I THINK it was great that Phil and Danny were home?? for the weekend.....But now I'm not sure if it was just a dream and they never were here. Kidding aside, I enjoyed watching my oldest son having a good time with my youngest one. Hope danny liked his new apt. The only bad thing was that I cooked for an army and you didn't eat. Next time.

Did you hear about that 17yr old girl whose mom was teaching her to parallel park, somehow she killed the mother when she pressed reverse and the gas pedal. Near here.

It seems Terry's boyfriend is ahero, his picture was in the paper, he saved "a teen mother from jumping from her apt".

Hope somebody can go to Terry's baby's baptism. It will be fun PHIL.

Love you all

PS Javi, hope your friend is better and hopefully he will learn a good lesson.

NO AC???????????

Are you kidding? People are dying with this heat, that could be dangerous. ....oh well, maybe it's not as bad for young people I guess. I lived in Ecuador, hot as.....heck and I don't even remember fans. It makes you tough.

About your akward moment, I had two yesterday, I realized after I said something that it could be taken the wrong way. One was our friend the elderly sister who is 92 or 94 but looks 60 to me. SHe's incredible, smart, has a phd, etc etc and when her computer is not working she calls papi, well, she called yesterday and I said for her to call the company instead that they might be able to guide her sounded like I didn't want papi to go help. Then, a week ago I offered our 4 airconditioners to Sr Pat, but then I also offered them to tia titi, so of course I have sr Pat saying that somebody really needs them and I had to tell her I gave them away, I felt terrible.

So, it's all set....July 27....mark your calendars, we're going to Spain. We're thinking of renting in Calafell, coming from Barcelona it's a stop before Segur. I do like Segur but we couldn't find any rentals there last year. Calafell is bigger and it has more restaurants and shops too. So, people can do whatever they want, take the train to Barcelona, etc. I would recomend that you leave time for the beach since it's so beautiful there. We will provide the apt and I will cook most days so save for your fare and extra expenses. I do plan on eating out too, I LOVE the paella andof course and horchata every day!! It'll be great!! I think Marcie thought she was going alone with her three friends but now she says I'm a parasite for going also, she did add I'm a good parasite...Oh, isn't she wonderful?? Anyway, it will be lots of fun!! 2 weeks!! in sunny Spain. Of course the only bad thing is having to look at those topless young girls playing volleyball....

Love you all!

I said something stupid last night

I stopped by the concierge lounge at the hotel last night after soccer. It was getting late and I didn't see anyone as I walked in. Some of the lights were off in the back - and I could tell the place was closing up. The second thing I noticed was that the television in the middle of the room was tuned to this couple doing ballet. I look over at the concierge who's on duty and I immediately feel bad for this guy. I'm wondering what guest came in - turned the channel to this gay stuff - and then left it on.

I look over at the attendent and I'm like "So who put this stuff on?" And I'm half-laughing while I say this. The guy turns to me and says - with a lisp - "Oh I did - I love this show." Well - I immediately didn't find anything else funny to say.

Well, In all my years, 47 of them, I've never remembered such a summer. Lightning killing so many people, we had two kids playing soccer just recently, the storms come out of nowhere. How is everybody doing?? keeping cool? Am I glad Dad decided to get air conditioning this year.

Filly, I like your idea of eating out, sometimes only when eating out people have a time to chat. But as you said you eat out everynight, I enjoy cooking when you come, if you ever have any requests for dinner let me know when you are coming and I'll try to cook what you want.

Fr Zenek asked me when you will be in Crakow, he's going to be there 9/6, he's a cool guy but I don't think you are going to be there that day.

Well, I'm really going to plan about renting an apt in Spain next year, I'll talk to papi about starting a beach "fund" maybe all of you can save for the fare and extra expenses and we'll pay for apt and food. It would be so much fun. Marcie really wants to go and yesterday my cousins Martha and Ivonne called, I guess we are "friends' again and now I really feel like going. So, we'll see....

Coming home this weekend??
